New Release -- MEMORIES FROM MAPLE STREET, U.S.A.—PAWPRINTS ON MY HEART -- Giveaway!

Have you ever had a pet that left indelible pawprints—or hoofprints—on your heart?  Pets we’ve rescued—that rescued us, as well—and animals that maybe weren’t so much “pets” as “acquaintances” who’ve taught us a thing or two…

The third edition of our successful series, Memories From Maple Street, U.S.A.—Pawprints On My Heart, is chock full of stories about special pets we’ve had. These tales evoke loving memories of days gone by when these animals played a huge part in our lives—either as pets we had as children, or as adults.

Who knew a miniature donkey could bring such joy, or a runaway monkey such laughter? A trip to the vet leads to a car wreck and chaos when a cat escapes his carrier, and a determined mom decides to try her hand at hatching duck eggs with a homemade incubator. You’ll find these and many other tales in this wonderful collection of true stories that you will want to read and share!

Anatole France once said, “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” This collection of true animal stories will serve to prove him right!

Includes authors Gayle M. Irwin, Ann Swann, Carol Huff, Sarah J. McNeal, Charlie Steel, C.J. Samuels, Jim Landwehr, Cher’ley Grogg, Beverly Wells, Gil McDonald, Meg Mims, Tina Holt, Tanya Hanson, Cheryl Pierson, and L.D.B. Taylor.

Be sure and leave a comment to be entered in the drawing for a free ebook of  MEMORIES FROM MAPLE STREET, U.S.A.—PAWPRINTS ON MY HEART.

  1. Who doesn't like animals? Who doesn't have a special memory of how a pet made life sweeter and BETTER!

    1. Pets give us so much, at all stages of our lives. I will never be without a pet of some kind. I have a good friend who fosters Plott Hounds. I am not sure I could give up a dog I fostered, even overnight. LOL I want to keep them all. I had many cats growing up, and I don't know how I'd have gotten through those childhood days and teen years without them.

  7. Dang, wish I'd known about this. I'd have told the story of our rescue Greyhound. I'm admittedly not a dog person, but Tuk changed that.

    1. Gordo, I wish you had submitted a story, too! Any dog that can turn you into a "dog person" needs a story written about them.

  10. Since the time I was a child growing up in Iowa, pets have had a major impact on me, leaving pawprints on my heart. Animals can teach us so much -- loyalty, courage, kindness, and so much more -- if our hearts are open to such instruction. I'm honored to be included in this publication, which tugs at the heart and brings a smile to the face... just like our animals!

    1. Pets DO have a major impact on all of us, I think, and teach us how to love and care for other living beings. Remembering to be thoughtful and take care of something else that depends on you is a huge part of a person's make-up, I think. As you say, our animals teach us so many things!

  11. I too feel so honored and delighted to be included in this collection of such heartwarming and fun stories. It's absolutely perfect for summer ( or anytime really) reading--light-hearted, cute and full of animal tales. Not many will be able to resist this fantastic one. I know I'm looking forward to reading the few I haven't had time to get to as soon as I can. Thanks Cheryl and Livia, Kathleen and all the authors involved.

  12. A great collection of heartfelt pet memories and stories. I am so happy to be a part of such a unique anthology. Tonto was a part of our family and telling this story brought back a flood of good memories of his nine lives. More about the book at: http://www.writerjimlandwehr.com/2016/07/spinning-plates.html

  13. We have had so many great pets, and some not so great. Yes they do leave prints on your heart. They also sometimes leave lasting reminders of their presence. We have several pieces of furniture with teeth marks on the legs and stretchers from puppies. One friend had her golden retriever puppy chew off the entire back of one rocker on her maple rocking chair. They never noticed until they pulled it out after many months and tried to rock in it. It nearly tipped over.
