New Release -- MONTGOMERY'S REVENGE by Bret Lee Hart -- Giveaway!

The Half-Breed GUNSLINGER III

Duke Montgomery is an Indian fighter—a hard-as-nails killer, plain and simple—who doesn't think twice about ambushing a man or killing him face-to-face. When he learns his brother Richard is dead, killed by the Half-breed Gunslinger, Duke goes on the hunt.

To avoid trouble after his dealings with Richard Montgomery, Hunter James Dolin and his woman, Helen, travel deep into the Everglades to live in peace for a while. But, as is the way of the world, trouble soon comes looking for them.

How many will die as Duke Montgomery seeks the Half-breed Gunslinger to get revenge? And what surprises are in store for Hunter James Dolin? Will he be able to survive MONTGOMERY’S REVENGE?

EXCERPT

Hunter came up out of the lake to see the bear headed for the cabin where Helen slept.
Naked, Hunter ran at the bear as he drew the remaining revolver from its holster and pulled the trigger, aiming at the bear's backside. All he got were clicks. The bear had almost reached the cabin door when Hunter caught up with him. He turned the revolver around, using the butt like a club on the backend of the large animal. The bear turned quickly, with a ferocious growl, making Hunter stop and begin stepping backward.
"Helen!" Hunter yelled. "I could use some help out here!"
The bear came at him at a run. Hunter whirled around and ran straight for the lake as fast as he could. After five strides, he dove in. As his head hit the water, he heard gunfire, and then went under. Hunter quickly came back up from the depths, taking a breath of air and turned around, whipping the hair from his eyes as he paddled his feet to stay afloat just off the bottom. A smile of relief and pride came over him at what he saw. Standing naked over the unmoving black bear at the edge of the lake was his beautiful woman, and in her hands were two smoking Dragoon revolvers.
"Hell of a mornin'," Helen said, with a big smile.

  3. I've been wanting to read this series. I guess I'd better get on it. I've been working on a YA series, Vaqueras, a contemporary Western. The protag is a half gringo and half Mexican.
